Quick Facts:

SCR Start Date. March 14th.

Favorite Color: Green

Favorite SCR Drink: Mocha with Green Mint

Have you ever worked at a coffee shop before?
No! I’ve only been working a few weeks, but I’m already getting to know the regulars.

What year are you and what’s your major?
I’m a Sophomore at Cedarville University, graduating in 2014. My major is Exercise Science. I switched from Chemistry Education: in high school, my favorite subject was science, but not in college! I played on Cedarville Women’s reserve team my freshman year, and this year I’m coaching the reserve team.

What’s your hometown?
I was born in Morgantown, WV. But I’ve lived all over: Ohio, Indiana, Virgina, back to Troy, Ohio, where I lived for 5 years. My Dad was a director of emergency rooms, now he works at Wright Patterson Air Force Base.

What made you decide to come to Cedarville?
My parents both went to Cedarville (both 1990 grads). In 6th grade, I decided to come to Cedarville to play soccer. I never applied to any other schools and I had no backup plan! I just always knew Cedarville was where I wanted to go.

Favorite subject in college?
Exercise Physiology. It’s interesting and applicable to what I want to do in the future. Right now, I plan to get my masters degree in Exercise Physiology. My dream would be to study in the UK.

Future plans?
I know I’d like to do something with coaching soccer. I would love to be a speed and conditioning coach, maybe starting coaching in college and working my way up to coaching in the pros. I think a possibility would also be for me to study personal training.

Sara Savard - Soccer - Stoney Creek RoastersWhat are your plans this summer?
I’ll be working at Stoney Creek all of May and most of June. Then all of July and part of August, I’ll be going on a soccer coaching tour with Ambassadors in Sport. We’ll be traveling all through Colorado, Oregon, California and Washington, coaching kids soccer camps during the day. That will be great, and then in the evenings, the coaches will all form teams and play the local club teams, which I am very excited about too! I get back from the tour a week before pre-season for soccer coaching at Cedarville, so that’s going to be crazy!

Right now, I’m about halfway through fund raising for the tour. It has to it all raised--about $1,200--by the end of May. I sent out support letters, and I’m doing a Chik fil-a night on April 11. I have free tickets available, and when people bring a ticket into Chik fil-a on April 11, 20% of proceeds from that night go to my fundraising. If you want to pick up a ticket, stop by the store and talk to me!

What’s your favorite SCR drink?
My favorite drink at at Stoney Creek is Mocha with Frosted Mint. That was the first drink I ever got, and I get the same thing every time. It’s my favorite!

Stop by Stoney Creek, enjoy a Mocha with Green Mint and say "Hi!" to Sara Savard, the newest member of the SCR team!
